Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11)
"Perseverance"- The act or power of continuing to do something in spite of difficulties.
Ask your child if she/he would like to lead the family's prayer time. If not, pray a simple prayer and ask them to recite The Lord's Prayer when you are finished. Be sure to tell them that prayer is talking to God and that they can talk to God anytime about anything.

A high opinion of one's own importance.
Take a few minutes to watch and review the video about John the Baptist.
Ask the following questions:
Who was John The Baptist?
What was John telling people?
Who did people think John was?
What did John do for people who were sorry for their sins?
What did John baptize them with?
What did John say Jesus would baptize them with?
Read John 3: 25 - 36
What did John's followers tell him?
Who did John say must become greater?
To which person at a wedding did John compare Jesus?
Why was it important for John to point people to Jesus?
What are some ways that you can point people to Jesus?
Imagine it is a warm day and you have just gone to the kitchen to get yourself something to drink. You've gotten the glass down and it is ready. The dilemma? You have two options and you can only choose one. If you fill up the glass with one drink, you cannot fill it with the other. Many times, our lives are like the empty glass. We can only fill it with one thing at a time. If we are full of ourselves, we cannot be full of God. If we allow our lives to become filled with God, we will not be full of ourselves.
Why is it important for our lives to be full with God?
What can happen to us when we are full of ourselves?
What are some ways that you can decrease so that God can increase?
Ask your children to repeat this prayer -
God thank You for Your love and care for us. We admit that sometimes we think too highly of ourselves. Forgive us for the times we fail to acknowledge You. Thank You for giving us power when we stay humble.
